Replaced it with a Moen slip fit spout which is what the original one was. Is it normal/ok the it did not sit 100% flush with the wall. There was about a 2-4mm gap between the fiberglass surround and the spout. The photo appears to show the concrete board in your case to be approximately flush with the back of the plastic ring So most likely your tile will be with thin set probably 1/4 to 3/8 inch therefore flushing out the finished wall correctly .
